HOW DID THE UNIVERSE COME TO BE ? WHAT IS THE POINT, THE MEANING OF IT ALL ? HOW THE UNIVERSE CAME TO BE The only beginning possible if one
is to insist on beginning at the real beginning is absolute nothing. It is
the only "thing" that requires no explanation of its own origin or
being. Because of the most fundamental
requirement of reality -- that any infinity is impossible -- that beginning
nothing had to change into something to avoid becoming an infinite duration. Because of the requirement of conservation
the only way that something can come from nothing is for an equal but
opposite un-something to simultaneously arise so that the two balance to a
net of the original nothing. From that beginning, and its
inherent characteristics and nature, all of physics -- the description of the
universe -- can be systematically, logically and mathematically derived, and
that successful derivation verifies the correctness of that beginning. Thus the universe is accounted for
by purely material, natural causes without the need for any god or other
non-material cause. THE POINT, THE MEANING OF
IT ALL Love is the wishing of good for
the object of your love and acting so as to bestow that good. Social love is a society based on
love -- based on each member of society wishing to act and acting for the
benefit, the welfare, of the other members of the society, behaving to
further the benefit of all. The universe naturally evolves
intelligence, and the optimum success of intelligence is by cooperation and
sharing -- social love, not rapacious competition. We either use our
intelligence for a humane and rational society of social love or we persist
in suffering "survival of the fittest", making ourselves just
another animal, another beast. So, from the material origin of
the universe, occurring inevitably from the original primal nothing, is
obtained the natural law of intelligent society, the "golden rule"
of love and cooperation as a derived, essential law of reality. The Origin of
all also causes and determines the purpose, the end, of all AND
THAT IS THE HUMANE, RATIONAL CIVILIZATION
OF THE
